French Toast with Berries and Maple Syrup

Ingredients

2 2 eggs
1/4 cup 50 ml 1% milk
2 slices 2 slices whole wheat bread
1 tsp 5 ml soft margarine or butter
1/2 cup 125 ml blueberries
1/2 cup 125 ml strawberries
2 tbsp 30 ml maple syrup

Directions

  1. In shallow dish, beat eggs with milk; dip bread slices into egg mixture, turning to coat. Set aside.
  2. In medium nonstick skillet, melt margarine over medium heat; add bread slices and cook for 5-6 minutes, turning once, until both sides are golden brown and centre is cooked.
  3. Transfer to plate and top with berries; pour syrup over top.
